Surrey wins U14 League

Teams of 10 players from Bedfordshire, Essex and Surrey met at Goring & Streatley GC on 17th September 2023 to play the final of the U14 League.

With a late start there was plenty of time to worry about the unpleasant weather that was headed for the golf club. Thirty minutes after the golf began the predicted rain arrived and it was as heavy as expected. Play was suspended for about an hour to allow the rain to move on and the flooded greens to recover. The competition was reduced to nine holes only.

Despite the tough conditions some good golf was played on a very nice golf course. We thank everyone at the golf club for their welcome and their efforts to ensure that we had a good day.

Surrey were worthy winners having beaten both Bedfordshire and Essex.
