SEG Qualifier for the EG Seniors County Finals 2021

SEG Qualifier for the EG Seniors County Finals 2021

The 2021 qualifying event for the England Golf Seniors County Finals was held at Kingswood GC on 13th & 14th July 2021.

Kingswood Golf Club welcomed us for the event, providing excellent service, good food and a superb golf course. Thanks to everyone at the club for their efforts.

The practice rounds were curtailed by a storm which meant that most of the players hadn’t seen some, or any, of the course before the competition began.

Teams of six from the 11 SEG counties play two rounds of individual strokeplay – the best five morning scores plus the best five afternoon scores from each county make up the team score. Sussex showed their usual intent in the morning round and went in for lunch leading Kent and Surrey by 10 strokes. This theme continued in the afternoon and Sussex sealed the win with a total score of 735 with Kent, Surrey and Hampshire in joint second place with 752.

Sussex will go on to represent the South East Group in the EG County Finals, for the fourth consecutive time, at Grange Park GC in October.

Results of the Team competition can be found here.

The player with the best score over 36 holes was Stephen Jensen who was 1 under par for the day.

The full individual results can be found here.
