SEG Boys’ Qualifier 2022

SEG Boys’ Qualifier 2022

Teams of six young men from each of the 11 SEG counties met at Hendon GC on Wednesday 29th June 2022 for the qualifying event for England Golf’s Boys’ County Finals.

This event is played over 36 holes of scratch strokeplay. The best five scores in the morning and the best five from the afternoon make the team score for the day.

The course was well presented and posed a good challenge for the players – only one player (Tyler Weaver – Suffolk) was under par for the two rounds! With his two rounds of 69, Tyler won the individual competition.

The battle for the Team win was tight with Suffolk and Kent eventually finishing tied. The tie-break is decided by reference to the sum of the sixth scores and this gave Kent the win on the day. Kent will represent the South East Group at the final which will be held at Furness GC in August. We wish them the very best of luck.

Thanks go to Hendon GC and Middlesex Golf Union for having hosted this event.
